Surface Preparation by 'Dust-free' Captive Blasting of Vertical Surfaces
Vertical Captive Blasting and Surface Preparation of vertical steel structures such as industrial gas, petro-chemical liquid or material storage tanks and silos, ship hulls and other sea-going vessels is a specialist task. JMS Lincoln have the expertise and experience to complete your project in the UK and overseas.
Surface preparation and removal of paint and coatings is carried out using vertical captive blasting equipment. The vertical blasting machine is suspended from a crane and electromagnets hold the blast head against the treatment face. The vertical blast head recycles the steel shot, as old paint, coatings and corroded steel are removed from the work face and delivered to a dust arrestor at ground level using vacuum equipment.

Vertical Captive Blasting
Captive Blasting as described above is generally in a vertical plane, however treatment of off-plumb surfaces is possible and JMS Lincoln should be consulted for advice on how to undertake your project.
